Culture in the forms of everyday art is what we envisioned Pithecanthropus more than 25 years ago. Started as a small gift shop with curated collections of traditional art from various ethnic groups across Indonesian archipelago, we are committed to relentlessly rediscover Indonesian culture.

Our creations are simply inspired by objects from the past, translating the time-honored wisdom and combining it with modern perspective. Our commitment is to pass on the heritage to the younger generation and to unveil Indonesian heritage to the world through our “gapura”.
